Thank you to the clinicians at St Albans Integrated Urgent Care Hub run by HUC for the excellent treatment I received. I am grateful for the services the NHS provide under difficult circumstances.
We work closely with HUC to ensure we always deliver the best patient care. Our services (NHS 111 and 999) liaise on a regular basis with HUC’s validation of calls coded for 999 services supporting collaborative working which makes sure that the patient receives the right care at the right time. An ambulance dispatch will not always be in the patient’s best interest with an identified alternative service more appropriate to support the best outcome for the patient.
The Early Intervention Vehicle service provided by HUC enabled many patients to be assessed and managed safely without the need to attend hospital or have a GP visit. Our care homes are very happy with this invaluable service for elderly and vulnerable patients,
which enables both a safe and timely outcome for them.
Disbelieving I needed an emergency ambulance, I was asked if I would like to speak to a clinician. Within a few minutes, a wonderful clinician rang me back, reassured me and booked me into a timeslot for urgent treatment. Thank you.

Our Healthwatch was delighted that HUC were commissioned to deliver the NHS 111 service in the Wisbech area. We had heard from people living in that area that they had difficulty accessing some of the services provided to the rest of Cambridgeshire, for example, the First Response mental health crisis support. Having a single NHS 111 provider for the whole of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough makes sense and provides equity and consistency for local people.
The NHS 111 service I received was first class. In fact I was impressed from start to finish.
Thank you on our behalf to the EIV team. On Saturday, we received a distress call from one of our patients. She was in tears and not feeling well herself. The EIV team really ran the extra mile for this family and was also extremely kind and cooperative over the phone with us. It really was a pleasure working with them.
The 111 service I received was excellent. The two nurses and doctor I spoke to were excellent and so very caring. I am very grateful we have this wonderful service when in need of help. I am so very grateful for all the help and kindness I received.
