Our HUC Academy Training programme

HUC is growing and we want you to grow with us. Whatever your aspirations, our HUC Academy can provide you with the training and development you need to succeed. We have a variety of different roles at HUC, clinical, non-clinical and in support functions, and we are committed to making sure you have the skills you need to develop in your role and progress in your field.

Our Training and Development opportunities include:

As part of the annual performance appraisal process, you and your manager can discuss what training you need to get you where you want to go.

Working from home

Working from home

We have a history of innovative approaches to work and have championed home working. We may not be able to agree to all home working requests immediately because every job and every person is different. For example, call handlers are required to work in a contact centre for training and quality assurance before any application is made to work at home. But after 6 months of training and passing the probation period, home working can be considered.

HUC is thriving. There is lots to do, which means new opportunities, new challenges and great personal and professional development. We never stand still. Neither will you.

We encourage our colleagues to request and enrol in training to help them progress at HUC and beyond.

We have sponsored many of our colleagues for certifications and diplomas in Pharmacology, Minor Illness and Injuries, Phlebotomy and General Practice Management.

As well as skills training and career development, HUC is passionate about giving our managers the tools and knowledge they need to help grow themselves and their teams.

We provide all managers with internal training so that they have a firm understanding of their expectations and are equipped to succeed. Alongside this, we can support external leadership development opportunities including NHS Leadership Academy programmes and Senior Leader Level 7 Apprenticeships.
