We are celebrating our amazing colleagues in our NHS 111 contact centres during International Control Room Week from 19 – 25 October. Thank you to all colleagues who help us look after our patient communities – we are proud to have you on our teams.

NHS 111 can help if you have an urgent medical problem and you’re not sure what to do. A fully trained advisor, support by a team of clinicians in the contact centre, will take you through a series of questions to make sure you receive the right care in the right place first time. That may be self-care advice, a consultation with a clinician over the phone or an appointment with one of our wonderful colleagues in the Out of Hours service. The team can also directly book an appointment at your own GP practice for you if required or direct you to the nearest pharmacy or emergency care service.

We are proud to support International Control Room Week, for everyone working in our contact centres, but also all other colleagues in our Out of Hours and Primary Care services as well as our support functions, who all work together to make sure our patients receive the best care possible.

This week, for every mention of #UnsungHeroes across social media during 19 – 25 October 2020, APD Communications, who organise the awareness week, will donate £1 to the Mind, Charity and the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
