We are delighted to announce that the GP Out of Hours treatment centre in Borehamwood has now reopened in a new location. Previously based at Elstree Way, the centre is now at The Grove Medical Centre. Patients who feel unwell out-of-hours should ring NHS 111, please do not come to the treatment centre without an appointment as it is not a walk-in facility. If you do have an appointment, there is ample parking at The Grove. It is located on the retail Shopping Park, next to Halfords. The site is well lit, with a large spacious waiting room and well-appointed clinical consulting rooms. There is also a pharmacist within Boots on the retail park making collecting prescription medication easy and convenient.
When ringing NHS 111, which is provided by HUC in Hertfordshire, a fully trained call handler will take the patient through a thorough assessment. Should an appointment be required, the advisor will make sure that the patient receives the right care in the best place for their healthcare needs. This could be an Out of Hours GP appointment, but also an ambulance despatch, an appointment with their own GP during their opening hours or at A&E. If required, they can also arrange for a video or phone consultation with a healthcare professional or give self-care advice.
