“We are really pleased to be entering into this partnership with HUC, which brings together two socially aimed organisations with strong reputations for delivering patient-centred care to drive the delivery of high-quality services for the local Cornwall and Isles of Scilly population, ” says Joseph St Leger-Francis, Associate Director of Integrated Urgent Care (KHCIC).
HUC has been providing NHS primary and urgent care services since 2008, during which time it has been responsible for NHS 111 services amongst others, including those in Hertfordshire and West Essex, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and Luton and Bedfordshire. The collaboration with DDG saw Somerset added to this list at the start of this month. The organisation prides itself on its strong community focus and has won multiple awards for its innovative approach to improving patient experience.
Colleagues working within the Cornwall NHS 111 service will be based at HUC’s Taunton contact centre, which is located just off the M5 motorway. Recruitment for a variety of roles, including clinical and non-clinical call handlers, is ongoing.
