Healthcare provider HUC is relocating its Peterborough contact centre to plush new premises in the city centre. From the week commencing Monday, 17 June, more than 200 HUC colleagues, who were previously based at Peterborough City Care Centre on Thorpe Road, will work from Sand Martin House, in Bittern Way.
HUC is leasing an office space on the ground floor (West wing) in the impressive three-storey building, located close to the River Nene, from Peterborough City Council. The property provides plenty of parking space, secure bike sheds, and also has cafes close by, among other amenities.
“We are committed to working together and the relocation to this new premises will demonstrate how through strong partnerships, we can jointly support our local communities in providing innovative, accessible and high-quality healthcare services,” enthused HUC’s Chief Executive Officer David Archer.
“We are confident Sand Martin House will make an excellent contact centre location for HUC and our growing team,” added David. “I would also like to thank our Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB colleagues and NHS Property Service for their support during our time at City Care Centre.”
HUC operates urgent and primary care services across the East and South West of England. Its core business is the provision of NHS 111 services for the benefit of those who are feeling unwell and can’t self-treat at home, see their GP or use their local pharmacist.
“We’d like to welcome HUC to Sand Martin House and hope that their staff enjoy working in arguably the city centre’s best office location overlooking the River Nene,” said Simon Lewis, the city council’s Service Director for Commercial, Property and Asset Management.
“The relocation to Sand Martin House will take pressure off the Thorpe Road City Clinic, releasing space for the other important health services which will continue to be delivered from there,” explained Simon.
“Public sector organisations are being encouraged to co-locate to support with the delivery of services, through the One Public Estate programme, and this is an example of that programme working at its best.
