HUC's partnership with SAOK

Colleagues at healthcare provider HUC have been going the extra mile to make a positive difference within the communities the organisation serves.

Having been introduced to a charity committed to reducing loneliness and isolation for vulnerable older people across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, commercial team members Lara Galliford and Sophia Woollams saw an opportunity to lend a hand.

Over recent months, HUC team members have been distributing the bags across the out-of-hours sites the organisation operates in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, with both clinical and non-clinical staff offering bags to those who might benefit from them.

Over recent months, HUC team members have been distributing the bags across the out-of-hours sites the organisation operates in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, with both clinical and non-clinical staff offering bags to those who might benefit from them.

SAOK’s community engagement manager for Bedfordshire, Sarah Neighbour, said:

“We are excited by our collaboration with the team at HUC. Working with organisations which routinely come into contact with the more vulnerable members of our community gives us the opportunity to connect with and help the particularly hard-to-reach.
