Celebrating our colleagues this National Apprenticeship Week
At HUC, we encourage our colleagues to develop their skills and actively support professional development through apprenticeships and other training programmes. This National Apprenticeship Week, we are proud to celebrate the commitment and dedication of some of our apprentices.
To round off this blog series, we spoke to Charlotte, our Placement Coordinator who is currently pursuing their apprenticeship.
Charlotte Collett, Placement Coordinator
Pursuing Level 5 Learning and Development Business Partner Apprenticeship
Charlotte joined HUC in October 2022, transitioning from Devon Doctors Group after the merger. According to Charlotte, the change has been exciting, as HUC operates very differently, offering plenty of opportunities to learn and meet new people.
“I’m currently working towards a Level 5 Learning and Development Business Partner Apprenticeship. Although I’ve always had a passion for learning, I had no formal education in this area. I pursued this apprenticeship to deepen my understanding of learning and development, build on evidence-based practices, and enhance my skills in the field,” Charlotte explains.
Throughout the process, they’ve learned how to write more effectively and apply different learning techniques. They’ve also completed assignments analysing existing learning levels and systems within the organisation.

The positive impact of a supportive team through my apprenticeship
“HUC has been incredibly supportive, ensuring I have dedicated time each week for my apprenticeship. My team has also been involved in some of my assignments and has provided enthusiastic support,” says Charlotte, adding, “The apprenticeship is giving me the knowledge and skills I need to pursue a career as a Learning and Development Business Partner or Consultant.”
If you’re passionate about learning and want to expand your expertise, Charlotte would highly recommend an apprenticeship. Their advice? “Understand how you learn best and choose a program that aligns with your style. Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like advice before applying for funding!”
