Today, we are excited to spotlight Peter Jones, a Project Manager with the Transformation Team. Peter is a familiar face around our contact centres, particularly in Welwyn Garden City, but he has also been seen at our other sites. For nearly a decade, Peter has been an integral part of HUC, working alternate weekends as a 111 Clinical Advisor and often as a Clinical Floor Walker, in addition to his usual weekly duties as an IT Project Manager.

Outside of HUC, Peter has been a Reverend Deacon at his local church in Enfield for three years. He will be participating in a half-marathon on Saturday, October 12, as part of a team supporting the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD), an international charity dedicated to helping people worldwide affected by poverty, climate change, conflict, and injustice. Peter shares, “In our parish, our CAFOD volunteers work closely with the Justice and Peace group, and I have seen firsthand the tremendous work they do.”
He adds, “Three years ago, my wife volunteered me for the London Landmarks Half Marathon for CAFOD. I performed well and raised a good amount for the charity, so I decided to participate again to stay fit. I contacted CAFOD, and they offered me a spot on their team for the Royal Parks Half Marathon, a prestigious event with limited entries. Entrance is usually via a lottery, so I feel fortunate to have a guaranteed place in the charity’s team.”
