National and regional DOS teams visit our Welwyn contact centre
Members of HUC’s Transformation team, along with colleagues from the Welwyn Garden City Contact Centre, welcomed DoS (Directory of Services) leads from national, regional and local bodies, as well as a representative of NHS England, to look at how the organisation utilises the NHS’s electronic DoS system.
The DoS is a central directory of information which provides NHS 111 call handlers, and others, with real-time information about services available to support patients. HUC’s visitors were keen to learn more about how NHS 111 providers interact with the DoS and what is done to promote its utilisation, while they also sought user feedback and discussed future updates. In addition, they were keen to understand what systems are in place to support home-working colleagues.
System Transformation Manager Viral Ballachanda organised a day-long session for them to discuss the Directory of Services and whilst they were around, they also sat with some of our Health Advisors, Clinical Advisors and Doctors to see how we interact with the system in real-time. Special thanks to our colleagues – Neil Searle, Shana-Lee Greiner, Adam Cornfield, Abbi Ramsay, Kieran Seal, Steph Messer, Durdana Karim, Harriet Baker, Sally-Ann Harris, Vicky Green, Jessica Hewitt, and Dr Sue and Dr Lesley for their support.
Here's what one of the DoS Leads said:
“It was an absolute delight to come and spend time within HUC. You have such great people who are welcoming and supportive, especially when we caused so much disruption to their day! We cannot emphasis enough how great it is to continue working with you, and how much we value our relationship.”
Anna Clark, East of England Regional
Directory of Services (DoS) Lead
