At HUC, we believe that delivering high-quality, integrated patient care relies on strong relationships across the entire healthcare system. That is why our Business Relationship partners were delighted to attend the recent BLMK & Northamptonshire Community Pharmacy Event at Cranfield University.
The event, themed One Team in Action, was a fantastic opportunity for our team to set up an exhibition stand, meet directly with frontline community pharmacists, and engage with wider healthcare stakeholders from across the region.
Connecting face-to-face allowed our team to strengthen relationships with existing colleagues and establish valuable new stakeholder contacts across the region. We gathered constructive operational feedback regarding NHS 111 pathways and Pharmacy First referrals, as well as how previous visits to our NHS 111 Contact Centre have helped pharmacists better understand patient journeys.
We were deeply encouraged by the warm reception at our stand. Anne-Marie King, CEO at Community Pharmacy BLMK & Northants, shared her thoughts on our participation. “HUC’s continued support and presence at our One Team in Action event made a genuine difference to contractors across Central East. Their insight, partnership and willingness to engage openly with frontline teams strengthened shared understanding and helped contractors feel more connected to the wider urgent care system. We are grateful for their ongoing commitment to collaborative working.”
Building these bridges is essential to ensuring patients get the right care, in the right place, at the right time. Moving forward, we are excited to act on the opportunities we identified to improve collaboration, education, and communication between NHS 111 and community pharmacy teams.
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to visit our stand, share their experiences, and chat with our team!
