Hard to choose just one

Linda Gilbert, Consultation Nurse, is a shining example at HUC. She only joined last year and, whilst working in Bedford, often answers calls for Hertfordshire. She works incredibly hard to ensure the best possible patient experience and also to make sure that the patient’s family and carers have what they need and are well supported. Many of those who called during the pandemic to seek advice will have spoken to her and benefited from her calm, professional manner, empathy and caring nature.

Another hero is Dave Humphreys, AIHVS Driver, who delivered over 1,000 items of medicines to patients who needed them in one of our home visit vehicles, which were not being used at the time due to face-to-face contact being restricted. He did this both in his work time with the approval of his manager and during his spare time – as ever passionate about the patients we serve.

Jan Hatch and Janice

A shining beacon of dedication

Finally there is Jan Hatch, Clinical Transformation Lead, who, during February, March and April was a shining beacon of dedication and an inspiration to everyone she works with. Dealing with a quickly changing situation, Jan was instrumental in getting the right processes, new ways of working and IT solutions set up to manage the drastically increased demand on our service. Ultimately, this made sure that patients were managed efficiently, safely and received the best care possible.
