How to access the service
The Urgent Treatment Centre is open from 08:00 to 20:00. From 18:00 each day, the front doors will close and access to the UTC will be via NHS 111 who will give you an arrival time. Any patient arriving after 18:00 will be asked to contact NHS 111.
You can go to an urgent treatment centre if you need urgent medical attention, but it’s not a life-threatening situation.
The UTC can be accessed in different ways:
- As above, if you contact NHS 111, after an initial assessment, you may be given an arrival time at the UTC if clinically required.
- This is a walk-in service, which means you do not need an arrival time.
However, the quickest way to be seen is to call NHS 111 who will be able to direct you to the most appropriate service for your condition. Patients who walk into the UTC will be triaged and may have to wait for longer as they do not have an arrival time.
