Passionate about what we do
At HUC, we are proud to provide high-quality NHS 111 services to our patient communities. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Did you know?
To get help from NHS 111, you can go online (for assessment of people aged 5 and over only). The service uses the same digital triaging system that calling 111 uses. This may mean a much quicker result for your healthcare need.
You can also call 111 for free from a landline or mobile phone.
We are a high-quality NHS 111 provider
NHS 111 is here to make it easier and quicker for patients to get the right advice or treatment they need, be that for their physical or mental health.
We can direct you to the best place to get help if you cannot contact your GP during the day, or when your GP is closed.
Depending on what you need, you might be advised to:
- call 999 or go to A&E in an emergency
- go to an urgent treatment centre
- see an evening and weekend GP
- book a callback from a nurse
- get urgent specialist support, for dental or mental health problems
- contact your own GP surgery
- see a pharmacist for help with a minor illness
- look after yourself safely at home
What happens when you contact NHS 111
After an initial assessment by a non-clinical NHS 111 call handler, you may be connected to a clinician, such as a nurse, GP, pharmacist or paramedic who plays an important role in NHS 111.
In many cases, NHS 111 clinicians and call advisors can give patients the advice they need without using another service such as their GP or emergency department.
If needed, NHS 111 can book patients in to be seen at their local emergency department or an urgent treatment centre, emergency dental services, pharmacy or another more appropriate local service – as well as send an ambulance should the patient’s condition be serious or life-threatening.
Alternative access to NHS 111
